Spring Tour 2008

Wavendon March 8th 2008

The kick-off of the Spring Tour was fantastic. What a power!

Proby’s backing band The Feds did the support act. They gave a great performance, but of course everybody couldn’t wait to see P.J. Proby himself!

Proby started with a powerful “Hurt”, followed by songs like “Mission Bell”, “Together” and “I Apologise”.

I’ll give you the complete songlist later. During the ending of “Masquerade Is Over” Proby went on his knees to sing to the audience.

Together with his wife June (Vicky Harrop), Proby performed as Johnny Cash with “Jackson” and “Daddy Sang Bass”.

The audience was deeply moved by songs like “Maria” and “American Trilogy”., but they had to come back to some action! Rolling through “Lonely Weekends” “Stagger Lee” and “Hold Me”, Proby showed he could still rock like nobody else!

Proby received standing ovations and left the audience flabberghasted. Too flabberghasted even to ask for more....

Rhyl March 12th 2008

The show in the Pavillion was not well attended. It may have been caused by the terrible stormy weather.

In the big theatre, that can hold a thousend people, there was only a handful of people it seemed. The people that were there, were very enthousiastic however.

If it would happen again that there were only a hundred people, Proby says he will just invite everybody to take their chairs and bring them all up on stage and have a “livingroom gathering” with the family! Wouldn’t that be something!

The show itself went very well however and once again P.J. Proby gave his all!

Worthing March 13th 2008

Worthing was something else! The show was well attended with over 400 people and the crowd was lovely and very much alive! Vicky and the Feds did a great job of warming the audience up. One guy was drunk and got a bit overheated by the sight of Vicky. Proby dealt with him very well later, but in the end the police had to remove him.

Proby appeared in a very stunning, shining red jacket. In fact everything about him was stunnung! Proby was very energetic and definitely on a roll. The audience responded with yelling and dancing! Proby did Que Sera his way and then had the audience sing it in the Doris Day way.

Angelica and The Masquerade Is Over were more powerful then ever. There were a lot of standing ovations again. Ending with Hold Me, nobody could keep his seat and it was difficult to let P.J. Proby go!

Newtown, Powys March 20th 2008

The theatre in Newtown was very good. Ticket sales

were a bit low, so they decided to replace the rows of

chairs with tables, all in Las Vegas style! Proby liked it a lot

better that way! The crowd was a bit tame, but Proby gave

a great show again! He told a lot of stories in between

the songs, which can lead to a new name:

The P.J. Proby Musical Diary Tour!!

The next show, in South Shields went very well again!

Proby played for a packed theatre, with ticket sales over 400...

The fans in this area are always very loyal and were cheering all the time! Of course this rubbed of on Proby, who had a good time entertaining the audience.

Also the last show in Stoke-on-Trent was a huge succes!

The people kept dancing and asking for more!

P.J. was in perfect form and gave

one of the best versions of

Maria ever!
